Ling Cod/Rock Cod Fishing
Bottom fishing is a fishery that you never know what you might catch, usually ling cod and various species of rock cod and bass but sometimes it can be a salmon, halibut, wolf eel even sea cucumbers or sometimes starfish or a rock…..
April 1st is when our Ling Cod fishery opens. Its a great way to start the season, spend sometime or the day bottom fishing for Ling Cod and Rock Cod and also fish for some salmon too. Some people prefer the white meat you get from a ling cod over the meat you get from a halibut. To me halibut meat is best that day fresh, but if you have to pull fish from a freezer Id rather pull out ling cod, its good day fresh and still great from the freezer.

Alan Boyd

Alan is Captain of the 2006 Grady White 300 Marlin. He has been sport fishing all his life and has been guiding on the west coast for over 20 years. Originally started in 1981, has been back now for over 10 years. Alan has been a high hours charter guide in Ucluelet, British Columbia for over 20 years averaging over hundreds of hours charter fishing per season. Alan has the ability to consistently produce fish while maintaining a high regard for his client’s comfort and level of expertise. A strong saltwater background has enabled Alan to access some of the best saltwater sport fishing that British Columbia has to offer. Alan looks forward to welcoming guests aboard his vessel the “Knot 2 Wild” and facilitating a memorable fishing experience. Professional Qualifications include; Marine First Aid, Marine Emergency Duties A3, Restricted Radio operator’s Certificate, Small Vessel Operator Proficiency, Certified Tidal Waters Angling Guide and MBS.
